Enhance your ukulele's tonal quality and playing comfort with a handcrafted ukulele armrest, designed to fit your ukulele perfectly. These are made to order, so I can make them to fit any ukulele. Note that photos are examples of wood, colors, and shapes. Please contact me with a photo of your ukulele before ordering. Not all ukes have the same body radius, so it's important that you send the make and model before ordering. Stay tuned for other messages, as I will need you to test-fit the template to ensure it's a perfect fit for your ukulele.
Keep in mind, these cannot be returned since they are made to order, so it's important that you message me or respond to my messages to ensure the armrest is a perfect fit.

Crafted from your choice of beautiful, high-quality woods, this custom ukulele armrest offers a stylish and functional upgrade to your instrument. The ukulele armrest is made to order, ensuring a perfect fit for your ukulele's make and model.

Because of the small radius of the body and the intricate grain pattern, each armrest is unique and takes some time to produce after receiving your ukulele details. The grain sits at various angles, adding a distinctive, natural beauty to each piece. The photo showcases a rosewood armrest for a Kala Bass Ukulele, which may also fit most concert-sized ukuleles, making it a versatile accessory for many players.

No hardware is needed for installation—simply contact me with your ukulele details, and I will craft a custom piece that enhances your playing experience. If your ukulele requires a smaller armrest, the price may vary slightly depending on the grain and size.

Key features include:
- Made to order for a perfect fit and a soft, comfortable edge
- Handcrafted from premium wood such as rosewood
- No hardware needed for installation (acrylic Free Mount Tape used)
- Unique grain patterns add aesthetic appeal
- Compatible with all ukulele body shapes and sizes (you must provide info)

IMPORTANT- If you have a nitrocellulose lacquer or oil-based finish, please choose the Hybrid Mount. The acrylic tape will affect the finish. With the Hybrid, I will add 3M backing over the acrylic Free Mount tape.

Care instructions are simple—avoid excessive moisture and clean with a soft, dry cloth. Elevate your ukulele's comfort and style with a custom wood armrest tailored just for you!

All of my handmade armrests are amazing and beautiful, but they don't just add to the unique look of your instrument; they also serve a purpose. Made of beautiful, solid wood (wood descriptions are at the bottom of the page above the video). You have the option of an exotic wood overlay blended with a matching-colored wood base. If you are interested in an exotic wood overlay, please message me so we can talk about what I have in stock.

These armrests are designed to be attached to the edge of the ukulele where the strumming arm sits naturally. These not only protect the finish from harmful sweat and arm movement, but also create a more comfortable area to rest your arm than a typical sharp right-angle edge. I hand-sand each armrest to create soft curves along the edges, creating a comfortable place for your arm to rest without muffling the top. It also protects your top and allows it to vibrate more freely, which improves your ukulele's sound. And the best part is they don't require any hardware. I use a special "tape" which is not a typical sticky tape. The material is rubbery and very sticky, so it has strong holding power, but it can be removed without residue and will not harm your top. If you need to remove it, I've made a YouTube video showing installation and removal on a ukulele; this is the same for the ukulele and guitar as well- https://youtu.be/B0G0qRgt0_U

What Does It Do? Yes, they look beautiful, but this armrest should also improve sound quality. A simple test will show what we mean. Place your ukulele on your lap, face up, and strum it once. Now place a few fingers or your palm on the top and listen carefully, you will hear a dampening of the tone and a bit of the projection. This is because the top is the “soundboard,” it's meant to vibrate to create sound, and the ukulele is very small, so there's less surface area to vibrate. Taking your arm off the top will allow it to vibrate and move more, which will improve the tone, volume, and projection. Imagine how much the top is muted when your forearm is resting there while playing. With a guitar, testing shows that with a resting arm, you lose between 15% and 20% of the power and projection! You can only imagine the loss on a smaller ukulele top.

Wood Description- Wood color and grain will vary.
--Rosewood, a favorite of many, offers a wide range of colors and grain patterns. Sometimes very light, with wide grain; other times, a deep, rich cocoa color with dark, striped grain. Feel free to ask for lighter or darker. I'll send you a photo with a few choices.

-Walnut-Medium cocoa in color that can range from a lighter pale brown to dark chocolate brown with darker brown streaks. The grain is usually straight but can be irregular.

-Maple- Its color ranges from nearly white to an off-white cream color, sometimes with a reddish or golden hue. As you get closer to the center, you may see some red hues. Its grain is generally straight but may be wavy and has a fine, even texture. Grain patterns can also be figured with flamed, curly, birdseye, or quilted.

-Laurel- Color can vary from light brown to dark brown with darker, nearly black streaks. The grain is generally straight or slightly interlocked or irregular. With a medium to coarse uniform texture.

-Mango- This wood can be a kaleidoscope of colors. Under normal circumstances, the wood is a golden brown, while other colors, such as yellow and streaks of pink and/or black, can also occur. Curly or mottled grain patterns are also common. The grain can be straight or interlocked with a medium to coarse texture.

Review, Installation & Removal Video Although this video shows the mandolin, the installation and removal are the same for the ukulele. https://youtu.be/B0G0qRgt0_U

NEW UKULELE ARMREST NOTES- PLEASE READ ALL INFO
In my ongoing effort to improve my designs, I've eliminated the standard edge finish. All of my new armrests will now include my custom curved-edge version with a softer edge. If you typically rest your arm on the edge, you know it's sharp and can cause pain. If you can relate, you'll love my new custom curve armrest. The armrest edges are hand-sanded and shaped to eliminate the 90° angle, creating a soft curve. This makes it a much more comfortable place for your arm. These beautiful, handmade ukulele armrests don't just add to the unique look of your instrument; they also serve a purpose. Made of high-quality solid wood, these armrests are designed to be attached to the top along the edge of the ukulele, just like a guitar armrest. It not only protects the finish from sweat and arm movement but also keeps the edge as the sole point of contact on the top, allowing the top to vibrate and improving the ukulele’s sound quality.
Ukulele Armrest- What Does It Do?
While it may look like a stylish accessory, this armrest is designed to enhance your mandolin’s sound quality. Here's a quick way to hear the difference:
Place your ukulele face-up on your lap and give it a strum.
Now gently rest a few fingers—or your whole palm—on the top of the instrument.
Listen closely: the tone becomes duller, and the projection fades.
Why? Because the top of the ukulele is the soundboard, it needs to vibrate freely to produce rich, resonant sound. And since ukuleles are small, every bit of surface area counts. When your forearm rests on the top while playing, it dampens those vibrations, muting the tone and reducing volume and projection.
Studies show that resting your arm on the soundboard can reduce power and projection by 15–20%. On a ukulele, the impact is even greater due to its smaller size. So by using an armrest, you lift your arm off the soundboard, letting it breathe and vibrate freely—resulting in better tone, volume, and clarity.
Note: If you have an oil-based (rubbed), nitrocellulose, or lacquer finish, the acrylic Free Mount tape may affect the finish, so please order the hybrid option. The videos show the installation using my new clear acrylic tape, which works better. Unlike John Pearse armrests, this special non-adhesive tape stays in place better and can be removed without leaving residue. Again, please watch both before installation AND removal. https://youtu.be/B0G0qRgt0_U
