This versatile armrest is perfect for both left- and right-handed guitars, providing a comfortable resting spot for your arm while you play. The new custom curved edge option offers a softer, more ergonomic surface—ideal for musicians who rest their arm on the edge of the guitar body. NEW GUITAR ARMREST NOTES- PLEASE READ ALL INFO
In my ongoing effort to improve my designs, I've eliminated the standard edge finish. All of my new armrests will now include my custom curved-edge version with a softer edge. If you typically rest your arm on the edge of your body, you know it's sharp and can cause pain. If you can relate, you'll love my new custom curve armrest. The armrest edges are hand-sanded and shaped to eliminate the 90° angle, creating a soft curve. This makes it a much more comfortable place for your arm. These beautiful, handmade guitar armrests don't just add to the unique look of your guitar; they also serve a purpose. Made of attractive, solid woods, these armrests are designed to be attached to the top at the edge of the guitar, where the strumming arm naturally rests. It not only protects the finish from sweat and arm movement, but also allows the top to vibrate, which improves the guitar's sound quality. This is becuase only the armrest edge is in contact with the very edge of the guitar's top.
With my Free Mount tape, installation is made simple. I've created an installation and removal video to help you install your new armrest. The videos show the installation using my new clear acrylic tape, which outperforms the foam tape used in John Pearse armrests. Former JP customers reported that the armrest slipped off their guitar due to the heat from the arm. My tape is a special non-adhesive tape that stays in place better than the JP brand's foam tape, and it can be removed without leaving residue. Please watch both before installation AND removal. If you have an oil-based (rubbed), nitrocellulose, or lacquer finish, the acrylic Free Mount tape may affect the finish, so please order the hybrid option. You will follow the exact installation instructions.

Why Use an Armrest? - This armrest will improve the tonal quality of your guitar. A simple test will show what we mean. Place your guitar on your lap, face up, and strum it once. Now place a few fingers on the top and listen carefully; you will hear a softening of the tone and a reduction in projection. This is because the top is the “soundboard.” The more it resonates, the better the tone, volume, and projection. Imagine how this must sound when your forearm rests on the top while playing, dampening such a large area. Testing shows that when your arm rests on the guitar's top, you lose between 15% and 20% of projection, and the tonal qualities are dampened. Many players have messaged me about how much better their guitars sound with the armrest. And bonus, for some, no more or substantially reduced arm pain.
